I became interested in silver-plated housewares from antique stores rarely used at home nowadays. Its skin of silver is hard to sustain. These objects usually considered family inheritance have very little actual monetary value. They became a symbol of a female family member of the past.
Objects exist for decades, centuries or millennia. Their functions shift over time from utilitarian to symbolic, from direct use by the owners to a ritual, indirect use. They exist until the owner declares them as non-functional. They might become forgotten, discarded or destroyed.
